Stowe Yacht Club hosted the annual “J Days” as part of the Green Mountain Regatta. We held the first day of racing with the Wirlwinds J Class sailboats. Over the next two days, we will race the J Class boats followed by 2 days of EC12 racing. Six Whirlwinds J Boats were on the starting line Wednesday June 2nd and after a few adjustments the 7th sailboat joined in the racings. With our small group, we got down to racing and, racing we did! During the day there were many collisions, troubles with rudders, and various other issues seemed to affect several boats. The weather was full of sunshine, moderate light winds with blue skies and temperatures in the 70s.

Chuck Millican pulled off 6 bullets out of the 12 races, coming back to the Green Mountain to race again and finished the regatta in 1st place with 15 points. He was followed by Rick Meyer with 23 points finishing a stong 2nd place.
