2022 GM J Class Boat Regatta Results
By: Bernie Peine
Stowe Yacht Club hosted the annual “J Days” as part of the Green Mountain Regatta. We held the first day of racing on Thursday with 11 J Class sailboats completing 14 races. Over the two days, we raced the J Class boats completing a total of 26 races. The races split into odd even groups keeping the total boats on the water limited to smaller groups. There were hardly any collisions, but a few troubles seemed to affect several boats. Thursday's weather was mostly cloudy and a few brief showers came in around lunchtime, but on Friday the weather was full of sunshine, moderate light winds with blue skies and temperatures in the 70s.
The top place scores ended as a tie with only 17 points, with the tie breaker determiined by the number of first place bullets achieved. Chuck Millican finished the regatta in 1st place with 17 points and 7 bullets out of the 13 races. He was followed closely by Dave Ramos with 17 points finishing with 6 bullets.
